Despite the clampdown by the authorities in both Macau and China, the gaming business remains the mainstay of the Macanese economy.
As with Hong Kong, since the start of COVID-19, Macau has been under lock down for months on end. The tourism industry has suffered accordingly – especially with the border between Macau and China being closed.
The Macau Government requires companies to file statutory returns, including Annual Returns, Change of Address, Directors and Secretaries and their details. Unlike Hong Kong, the Macau company registry does not publish the documents individually, but updates the master copy and makes that available.
